Hey guys,
The audio for my Eastside pies slideshow is somehow missing so I just have a bunch of pictures and NO sound. I can interview the manager/co-owner over the phone tomorrow night, but I still won't have any nat sound! I can go there on Wednesday or Monday, but is that too late? I have the photos of the signs so I can send them to William or put them in the shares drive.
Sorry!!

almost done
I hope everyone still gets email when someone posts to this thing.
Sorry for being flakey this week. I'm going to work with what I have but if
anyone wants to send me stuff I don't have yet I can put it in for a more
finished-esque project on Tues.
Still need:
Two movies from Kathryn and one from Gloria.
Sign pics for Bossa Nova and East Side Pies.
And a short blurb to go on the movie pages from everyone.
And I know I am liable to be roasted alive for this but what about this for an
alternate design scheme: sort of a night scheme with a navy background and the
title being a pink neon looking thing that lights up every few seconds. Look at
the screenshot if you want.
I just thought our original was boring, but whatever you all think is fine.

Website stuff
So we came up with a basic design in class today, and William is taking charge of most of the flash programming. Here are the other things that need to get done, so please sign up for something. We can talk about it more next time we have a class to work on it, but we at least need to be started on these things by next week.
-Flash designing guru guy (William)
-building/shooting intro photo package (Kelly)
-writing copy for the intro and about pages
-finding font/designing logo with the name of the website and links to other pages
-finding relevant links to add to the restaurant pages or about page
-other things I'm forgetting?
Everyone should bring their finished videos to class next week so that we can put them onto one hard drive for William. If anyone knows anything about the best way to export Final Cut Pro files for a flash project that would be helpful as well.
Also, please email me photos of your restaurant's sign (or other interesting details) if you have them. Sized to 72 dpi and 6 inches on the long side. If you don't, let me know so we can figure out when/what to shoot.
Over and out.

Website structure
Hey gang,
Let's throw around some ideas on this blog about how we want the website to be designed. I'm thinking we could have an intro page with either a short collection of soundbites from our various interviews, or maybe (I think Kathryn and I talked about this) a time-lapse video of a plate of food getting eaten that just plays in the background, or some other graphic element like that as a backdrop. I still like the idea of an interactive map, though I'm not sure if the restaurants are close together enough to make that feasible. The farthest south is Cesar Chavez and farthest north is 31st I think, so that's about 30 blocks north to south we would have to fit on the page. Any other idea besides the map? Or we could try to divide the videos into categories, but I kind of think they are cohesive enough that they should all live on the same page and link to the individual videos, and maybe to the restaurant's website. Thoughts?
